Weather Patterns - 22/03/19

The screen is split into four panels. The top left shows isobars and weather fronts. On the bottom left you'll find the wind and air temperature at the surface. The bottom right shows the jet stream and the temperature at 5000 feet above the ground. On the top right you'll see how all of this impacts the cloud, rain and snow over the UK.

During the next 48 hours, high pressure will remain close to the UK and many places will enjoy a fine weekend of weather. However, there will be a couple of exceptions. An active jet stream close to northern UK will bring lively showers and strong winds to parts of Scotland. Meanwhile, a cold front will linger close to the far south of England and we can expect thicker cloud here at times. Away from the far north and far south, however, there will be plenty of dry and bright weather. It will feel colder compared to the last few days, especially in the wind.
